Licensing & Limits

Fishing licenses are valid Dec. 15, 2004 thru Jan. 31. 2006.  Annual resident fishing licenses are $25.  Non-resident licenses are $60 with optional 3 day ($32) and 1 day ($12) licenses available.

Lake Oahe daily limit may include no more than 4 walleye/sauger 15"or longer and no more than 1 of those may be 20"or longer. 

Limit is 6 daily, 18 possession.

 

Spearfishing Regulations

Game Fish Season:  Jan. 1st -March 5th, July 1st - Dec. 31st

July & August - Spearing may occur 24 hours a day.

Limits:  The daily possession limit is the same as hook and line limits (paddlefish and sturgeon not legal).

Diver-down Flag:  Divers must display a diver-down flag firmly attached to a securely anchored float, tube or buoy while diving.  The flag must be at least 8 inches by 10 inches and must be red with a white diagonal strip running from the upper left corner to the lower right corner.

Area:  Lake Oahe from Oahe Dam upstream to the US 212 bridge.  Lake Sharp from Big Bend Dam upstream to the US 14 bridge at Pierre.
